For 2 servings:
350 g (a can) cooked chickpeas
1 onion, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, mashed
1 cm ginger, minced (or 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder)
fresh chili, to taste (or chili powder)
1 teaspoon mustard seeds (extra, optional)
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1 tbsp oil
fresh cilantro (optional)
Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the mustard seeds. Stir fry for 2-3 minutes until they begin to pop. Add the onion, stir fry for a few minutes then add the garlic, coriander, ginger, paprika, chili (chili powder) and tomatoes.
Cook at medium heat until the sauce has reduced, stirring occasionally. If needed, add a little water.
Add the turmeric, garam masala and chick peas and continue to cook for approx. 5 minutes. Add salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve with boiled rice / biryani and / or naan bread.
Pentru 2 portii:
350 g (o conserva) naut fiert
1 ceapa, taiata fin
2 rosii, taiate marunt
1 catel de usturoi, pisat
1 cm ghimbir, pisat (sau 1/2 lingurita pudra de ghimbir)
ardei iute, dupa gust (sau boia iute)
1 lingurita seminte de mustar (extra, optional)
1 lingurita boia dulce
1 lingurita pudra de coriandru
1/2 lingurita garam masala
1/4 lingurita curcuma (turmeric)
1 lingura ulei
coriandru proaspat (optional)
Se incinge uleiul intr-o cratita, se adauga semintele de mustar. Se prajesc 2-3 minute pana cand încep să “sară”. Se adauga ceapa, se caleste câteva minute apoi se adauga usturoiul, coriandrul, ghimbirul, boiaua dulce si cea iute (ardeiul iute) si rosiile.
Se fierbe, la foc potrivit, până când sosul a scazut , amestecându-se din când în când. Daca este nevoie se adauga putin apa.
Se adaugă turmericul, garam masala si nautul si se continuă fierberea timp de aprox. 5 minute. Se potrivește de sare si se orneaza cu coriandru proaspat.
Se serveste impreuna cu orez fiert/ orez biryani si/sau painici naan.
