Koulouria
For approx. 10 pieces:
500 g flour
3 teaspoons dry yeast
250 ml warm water
25 ml sunflower oil
50 g raw sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
150 g sesame seeds
Mix 2 tablespoons of sugar with the yeast in half of the amount of water. Allow to rest 10 minutes until the yeast begins to ferment.
Mix all ingredients in a bowl, to obtain a dough. Knead the dough at least 5 minutes.
Cover and let rise in a warm spot for at least an hour, until doubled in size.
Knead the dough for another 5 minutes.
Take pieces of dough and make rolls of about. 35 cm long and 2-3 cm thick. Wet the rolls with water and get them through the sesame seeds. Join the ends to form a ring.
Koulouria
Bake in preheated oven at 220 C for approx. 15 minutes.
Serve warm or cold (keep them in a plastic bag otherwise they will become hard).
Note: Koulouria are traditional Greek sesame bread rings.
Covrigi grecesti cu susan
Pentru aprox. 10 bucati:
500 g faina
3 lingurite drojdie uscata
250 ml apa calda
25 ml ulei de floarea soarelui
50 g zahar brut
1/2 lingurita sare
150 g seminte de susan
Se amestecă 2 lingurite de zahăr și drojdia în jumătate din cantitatea de apă. Se lasă să se odihnească 10 minute până când drojdia începe să fermenteze.
Se amestecă toate ingredientele într-un castron până se obține un aluat. Se frământă cel puțin 5 minute.
Se lasă aluatul la dospit, cel puțin o oră, într-un loc la căldură, până când se dublează în volum.
Se framanta aluatul inca 5 minute.
Se iau bucati din aluat si se formeaza rulouri lungi de aprox. 35 cm cu o grosime de 2-3 cm. Se umezesc cu apa si se dau prin semintele de susan. Se unesc la cepete pentru a forma un cerc.
Covrigi grecesti cu susan
Se coc, in cuptorul incins in prealabil, la foc iute (220 C) timp de aprox. 15 minute.
Se servesc calzi sau reci (se pastreaza intr-o punga de plastic altfel se vor intari).
