Biryani
For 4-6 servings:
300 g rice
300 g vegetables (onion, bell pepper, frozen peas)
2 cm ginger, grated (1 tsp ginger powder)
3 teaspoons coriander powder
3 cloves of garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon garam masala
3 tablespoons oil
salt, to taste
fresh cilantro to garnish (optional)
Cook the rice in water with some salt. Drain and set aside.
Chop the vegetables and mix them with the garlic, ginger and the spices.
Heat the oil in a wok (pan) and add the vegetables. Stir continuously until they begin to soften slightly. Add the rice, stir to combine and add salt to taste.
Garnish with finely cut fresh coriander.
Serve with Indian dishes.
Note: You can use different kind of vegetables: carrots, broccoli, leeks, green beans, etc..
Biryani
Pentru 4-6 porții:
300 g orez
300 g legume (ceapă, ardei gras, mazăre congelată)
2 cm ghimbir ras (1 linguriță ghimbir pudră)
3 lingurițe coriandru praf
3 căței de usturoi, pisați
1 linguriță garam masala
3 linguri ulei
sare
coriandru prospăt pentru ornat (opțional)
Se fierbe orezul în apă cu puțină sare. După ce a fiert se clătește cu apă rece și se lasă la scurs.
Legumele se taie mărunt și se amestecă cu usturoiul, ghimbirul și condimentele.
Se încinge uleiul într-un wok (cratiță) și se adaugă legumele. Se amestecă continuu pănă când acestea încep să se înmoaie puțin. Se adaugă orezul, se amestecă uniform, se potrivește de sare și se călește totul înca câteva minute.
Se ornează cu coriandru proaspăt, tăiat fin.
Se servește alături de mâncărurile indiene.
Notă: se pot folosi diverse legume: morcovi, broccoli, praz, fasole verde etc.
